Will Ann Romney appear on ‘Dancing With the Stars?’

We have already known that Ann Romney appreciates ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ as she and her husband Mitt attended the season finale. Mrs. Romney readily acknowledged that she was a big, big fan of the show. Does any of these clues mean that the former presidential candidate’s wife wants her own spot on the show?

No, it doesn’t. In an article dated, Monday, Jan. 24, TMZ reported that though she was contacted and offered a spot, she ended up turning it down.

Sources connected to TMZ report that Mrs. Romney was approached about the gig soon after the election, and did say she was ‘very interested.’ However, those sources have learned that after Ann and the producers had several meetings to cover the details, she decided not to follow through.

Additionally, a rep for Romney told TMZ, “Ann Romney was approached, but she declined. She will not be appearing on ‘Dancing With the Stars.’

Mrs. Romney attracted the positive attention of many during her husband’s campaign as someone who would make a classy first lady. Known for her intelligence, style and elegance, she fits the profile of someone that could remain front and center stage. However, at this point it appears that Ann is content with remaining out of the spotlight unless she has Mr. Romney by her side.

DWTS’ has been known to bring family members of political figures to their dance floor before. Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol has had a spot on the show twice. At this point, it doesn’t look like Ann Romney will be following suit.
