Will Algieri Give Pacquiao a Better Fight Than Expected?

Is Manny Pacquiao in for a tougher fight than most people think? Some people think so. Personally, I think Manny Pacquiao will defeat Algieri fairly easy but there are others that disagree. There's no doubt about the heart of Chris Algieri, but does he possess the skill set to hang with the 8 division world champion?

Manny Pacquiao may be a little bit older, but he still is an extremely dangerous fighter. Truth be told, up until Marquez landed that perfectly timed punch, Pacquiao was dominating that fight. Take away that knockout Vs. Marquez, and there's still not much to complain about when it comes to Manny's fight game. His speed is the same, and speed kills.

If someone is going to do well against Manny Pacquiao, they must be able to match his speed, or at least come close to it, and they must be able to time. If Algieri can time Manny perfectly, he's got a shot. To me the only way Algieri wins this fight is if he takes a page out of Marquez' book, and times Manny with something right on the kisser.

Some are questioning whether or not Algieri even deserves this fight. I'm actually happy for the guy. He is a world champion, and the guy shows up to fight. At least it's not another Pacquiao VS someone part 4 or part 5. Of course this would be a much more exciting fight to embrace if it were against Floyd Mayweather. Apparently THAT fight just won't happen, so were stuck with fights like this one.

Freddie Roach as usual will put together the blue print and Manny will execute it. The blue print for Algieri isn't a complicated one, and when you have a Manny Pacquiao to deliver it, the job is pretty easy. Freddie Roach and Manny Pacquiao have been doing this for a long time now. They will show up prepared, so Algieri better be ready to fight the fight of his life. If he's not prepared this could be a very short night for him.
