Could the rumors be true? According to the HuffingtonPost.com, Grammy-award winner, Adele, could possibly nab the starring role in an upcoming movie about the late Dusty Springfield. Like Adele, Springfield was English as well as a Grammy winner. In fact, she had been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during her lifetime. Dusty Springfield was 59 years old when she passed away in 1999. She was born in London and became well-known for hits such as “Son of a Preacher Man” and “Wishin' and Hoping.'”
While the Dusty Springfield project is still in the early stages of development, a scriptwriter and director had reportedly been chosen as early as 2011. Despite the speculation, Adele herself has made no comment publicly about the possibility of portraying the great singer and musician. It should also be noted that Kristin Chenoweth had also been mentioned as a contender for the lead role in the feature film. Who will get the starring role? I guess we will just have to stay tuned to see how this one turns out.
