The movie, “The Avengers” has been a film of controversy. The film didn’t stand a chance against the hard opinions of many critics. Marvel comic book fans seemed to have a different opinion. The majority felt it was good enough to satisfy their craving for another in the superhero tales. One thing is for sure. We added the Hulk to our favorite character list.
Due to the popularity of the on-screen green hero, the President of Consumer Products at Marvel, Paul Glitter, talked of a major motion picture stemming from the Guillermo del Toro’s TV adaptation of the Hulk, that would be in theaters in 2015.
Why a third film about the Hulk when the last two failed? The answer is quite simple. The new heroic display of the green man has caused the hero to go viral, or at least according to Glitter.
According to Ben Moore of Screen Rant, sales of comic books aren’t as good as Glitter makes it sound.
Sure, it’s fair to say that both those books are up from where they were last year (marginally, in The Hulk‘s case), but if you compare them to where they were two years ago, they’re down. Three years ago? Way down. Four years ago? Way, way, way down.
Even with the bad taste the film left in some critics’ mouths, we still have a chance of seeing a great movie, should Disney choose to bring on the right crew. “Avengers” saw the light of day with Josh Whedon behind the scenes and hopefully we will see a new “Hulk” movie released in 2015 with the same power.
Watch for “Hulk” to appear in theaters in 2015. The exact title is still unknown at this time but will be updated as more information comes in.
