A&E’s reality show “Wahlburgers” is now in its second season and has been nominated for the 2014 Emmy for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program. The show is up against Discovery Channel’s “Alaska: The Last Frontier” and “Deadliest Catch”, Bravo’s “Flipping Out” and “Million Dollar Listing New York”, and BBC America’s “Wild Things With Dominic Monaghan”.
Premiering in January of 2014, “Wahlburgers” follows the Wahlberg family as brothers Mark, Donnie, Paul, and mother Alma venture into business together with a Boston restaurant appropriately named Wahlburgers. Paul is the chef who has always wanted to own his own restaurant. Famous Wahlberg brothers Mark and Donnie are not only the show’s executive producers, but partners in the business while their mother Alma also works at the establishment.
Members of Mark Wahlberg’s entourage have joined the show as regulars. Johnny “Drama” and Henry “Nacho” Laun bring great laughs to the show. Johnny “Drama” continues to audition for acting gigs with the help of his “cousin” Mark while “Nacho” will eat just about anything he is dared to eat.
Each week the show touches on aspects of the burger restaurant’s business from hosting premiere events to possible expansions in other areas of the country as well as internationally. The Wahlberg brothers and their mother are entertaining, engaging, and humorous each week as they provide viewers an inside look at their family and their business.
So, is all of this enough to reward “Wahlburgers” with the 2014 Emmy in their category? Fans are hoping so! Tune into NBC for the 66th Annual Primetime Emmy’s at 8 p.m. EST on Monday, August 25th to find out!
