Beginning with an April 18 UCPAC Mainstage concert of Indian music featuring virtuosi Hariharan and Rasika Shekar and ending with the April 23 Hamilton Stage premiere of Marry Harry, a new musical comedy from American Theatre Group, it's going to be quite a week for entertainment in Rahway, New Jersey.
Toss in an April 19 Rod Picott show at UCPAC-Loft and the April 27 New Jersey Inter-Generation Orchestra 20th Anniversary Concert at UCPAC Mainstage, and it's a great way to really get Spring rolling.
* Friday Apr. 18, 8 pm. Mehfil-e-Ghazal with HARIHARAN and RASIKA SHEKAR. UCPAC Mainstage. Tickets $35-$250.
A virtuoso vocalist in the exquisitely romantic ghazal genre, Hariharan has recorded over 5,000 songs and dozens of film and TV soundtracks. His 1996 album Colonial Cousins with co-composer Leslie Lewis sold platinum, won the MTV Asia Viewer's Choice Award and US Billboard Viewer's Choice Award. Rasika Shekar is a mesmerizing master of the bansuri (traditional Indian flute) and sings in Hindustani and Carnatic classical styles. Here's a live clip of Rasika in Singapore last year.

Sparks fly when Harry (an aspiring chef trapped as cook at his dad's failing East Village restaurant) meets landlord Sherri come to collect overdue rent after dumping her cheating fiancé. Harry and Sherri fall madly in love fast tracking to marriage ... until everything hilariously and predictably implodes.
