The challenges people face today are overwhelming. Many are still seeking work, trying to hold on to their jobs and doing the best they can to move forward. At times it seems as though you have been placed in a desert for punishment. The desert does not have what you need to survive; in fact you must immediately know what your next move is. This wilderness place does not offer you the nourishment you need. Survival in this place requires getting plenty of rest so that you are alert, eating the right foods to gain strength and meditating to receive peace. The manual did not tell you how to handle surviving in the wilderness place; but the spirit within you knows the way. There are many people who remain in the wilderness for years and never realize they have been stuck. Each day we wake up we are reminded how grateful we are because we made it through another day of joy, trials, disappointments and struggles.
Exodus 16:3 “If only the Lord had killed us back in Egypt,” they moaned. “There we sat around pots filled with meat and ate all the bread we wanted. But now you have brought us into this wilderness to starve us all to death.” The only way to endure the wilderness place is meditate on the Creator, who He is and how He has blessed you. When Moses led the people of Israel from the hands of Pharaoh; they begin to complain because they could not see the blessing of no longer being a slave. The focus is not being in the wilderness but keeping your eyes on the One who will direct you out. Being in a place that allows you to think of the decisions you have made and are about to make is beneficial for your future. When you do not reflect on where you are going; how can you handle where you are presently. This wilderness place is not meant for long-term stay; however, the people of Israel remained there 40 years. It is only a place you arrive, endure and grow to the next level. Thinking of your wilderness place will help you to make better choices on the journey ahead. Embrace the wilderness place, learn from it and grow like a flower that is rare to be found in the desert.
