Wild West Showdown 2013: Rainy City Roller Dolls vs. Ark Valley High Rollers

Centralia's Rainy City Roller Dolls took to the track last night at Wild West Showdown, taking on the Ark Valley High Rollers out of Salida, Colorado.

Right from the beginning, this one was all Ark Valley. Taking advantage of the numerous power jam opportunities handed to them by Rainy City, Ark Valley took a commanding 80-8 lead only ten minutes into the game. Although Rainy City kept fighting the good fight. So much so that they played pretty evenly with Ark Valley over the final twenty minutes or so of the first half only being outscored by one point during that stretch. Still, Ark Valley held a solid 126-53 lead at halftime.

Ark Valley came out strong once again in the 2nd half, though. The Colorado crew went on a 43-23 run over the first 10 minutes of the second stanza. But, once again, Rainy City tightened their game up and played their opponents pretty evenly through the last twenty minutes of the game. It still wasn't quite good enough as Ark Valley won the bout by the score of 240-142.
