Lake Erie Islands Nature and Wildlife Center

Wild Tuesdays is a free summer program at the Lake Erie Islands Nature and Wildlife Center on Put-in-Bay. It takes place every Tuesday until August 26, 2014. The purpose of Wild Tuesdays is to educate the visitors on Ohio’s native wildlife by providing a hands-on interactive experience. You can get up close with a wide array of live animals, everything from spiders to turtles, salamanders and bats. Each week at Wild Tuesday, there will be a different speaker on hand who will teach visitors about a specific animal. The speaker schedule and topics are as follows:

  • July 8, Speaker Leah Bilski with the topic of turtles
  • July 15, Ohio State University with the topic of frogs
  • July 22, Amy Stone with OSU Extension on the topic of invasive
  • July 29, Debbie Nofzinger with Sandusky County Parks on the topic of bats
  • August 5, Josh with Crawford County Parks on the topic of salamanders
  • August 12, OSU Stone Laboratory on the topic "Something’s Fishy"
  • August 19, Kristin Stanford with the topic of Ssslitherin’ Sssnakes
  • August 26, Jackie Taylor with the topic of majestic monarchs

The Lake Erie Islands Nature and Wildlife Center is a non-profit organization who's mission is to promote conservation and education of the flora, fauna, and lands of the Lake Erie Islands ecosystem.
