Wild dogs blamed for death of four people in Mexico City park (Video)

It is a horrific tale that one might see on a B rated movie, not in the headline news, but here it is. Wild dogs are blamed for the death of four people - including a one year old toddler in a popular Mexico City park according to a story published in the Daily Mail Jan. 8, 2013. According to the report, there were two separate attacks, one taking the lives of a 26 year old woman and 1 year old child, and the other attack resulted in the death of a teenage couple. It was the second attack that authorities got a lead, the Alejandra Ruiz managed to make a frantic phone call to her sister Diana Ruiz begging for help and saying they were being attacked by dogs.

Ruiz told authorities that despite the call she had a hard time believing her sister was killed by dogs. She made a couple of interesting points, "what kind of dog can tear the skin from your whole arm and leave just bone and if it was an attack dog why didn't it attack her neck?" Another point she made, which has many people questioning where the blame should lie is, "what's most shocking is that one of her breasts was mutilated." And she mentioned that she later visited the area of the attack and found no pools of blood. Ruiz only hoped a thorough investigation would be launched.

Her questions bring up good points, while surely not all the graphic details of these horrific deaths were released to the press, the ones that were make many dog supporters wonder if there needs to be a deeper investigation. There are many animals in the wild that we know of and even some of myth that would fit the description of a dog.

The authorites claim that the damage was so extensive there had to be at least ten dogs involved in the attacks. Authorities searched the area and trapped 25 dogs by Monday night. The dog's fur and stomach contents will be checked for human blood and remains.

The pictures of the dogs captured look loke ordinary domesticated house pets, it is hard to believe that dogs would be able to do this horrific act. What are your thoughts? Do you believe with the dog theory or could it have been something else? Whatever happened one thing is for sure, it was a horrific tragedy. Feel free to leave a comment below with your thoughts.

Please note, the video above is not about this attack but is an interview with a well known animal behavorist who talks about why dogs attack.
