According to TSN, the Minnesota Wild defeated the Calgary Flames Monday evening by a score of 3-2.

Zach Parise scored the game winning goal for Minnesota with 5:16 left in the third period.

The Wild also got goals from former Edmonton Oiler Kyle Brodziak and defenseman Jared Spurgeon of Edmonton, Alberta. On Tuesday, the Wild had a third link to Edmonton as they acquired goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov from the Edmonton Oilers for a fourth round draft pick in the 2014 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

Monday was also very special for Mikael Granlund of the Wild and Markus Granlund of the Flames. It was the first time ever the Finnish brothers played against each other. Mikael Granlund had two assists and Markus Granlund had one assist.

The Wild meanwhile are comfortably in a playoff position in the Western Conference despite being in seventh place. They are nine points up on the Winnipeg Jets.

Calgary meanwhile drops to 23-31-7 and are on the verge of trading forward Michael Cammalleri with the trade deadline tomorrow. They will next play Ottawa in Calgary on Wednesday.
