Wikipedia breaks up with everyone: College students freak the f**k out

If you don’t live under a rock, you’re probably well aware of the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect IP Act (PIPA), two bills presented to congress that would censor the Web and impose harmful regulations on American business. Yesterday, several websites includingWikipedia instated a 24 hour blackout in order to protest the passing of these bills.

Although it was stated clearly on Wikipedia’s main page that their blackout would last only 24 hours, it appeared that many people—particularly harried college students—were unable to read the fine print (or, in this case, regular-sized print).

As a result, Twitter feeds became inundated with outcries of betrayal privy to someone finding a boiling pot of rabbit from Glen Close (Fatal Attraction? Anybody?) in their kitchen. Here are a few of our favorites/most face-to-palm worthy:
