Sunday, WikiLeaks.org published over 90,000 documents that were allegedly taken from the US military by Brad Manning about the Afghanistan war; the reports were filed between 2004 and January of 2010.
Monday, the US military said that the released documents put American soldiers at risk, while the Afghan government said that they were "shocked" that they documents were released. The documents include the number of people killed during the war, causalities, threat reports, etc.
"The Afghan government is shocked with the report that has opened the reality of the Afghan war," said Siamak Herawi, a government spokesman.
The Department of Defense is reviewing the documents and they have not confirmed their authenticity.
WikiLeaks.org purchased the documents in April of 2010 and spent weeks reviewing them before their release. WikiLeaks is a whistle blower website and they claim to have never published documents that are not authentic. They also claim to have an additional 15,000 pages that have not been released.
Pfc. Bradley Manning, 22, is suspected of leaking the documents. The US military has charged him with eight violations of the U.S. Criminal Code for transferring classified data, according to CNN.
WikiLeaks is attempting to gather a legal defense team for Manning; which is what they do for a WikiLeaks source that has legal trouble.

As the mother of a U.S. Marine going to Afganastan, I do not appreciate your leak of confidental documents. It is people like you that will get our soldiers killed.
It borders on treason.

I would rather see your son killed than the un-harmed children he has killed.
.... did you think the children your son is killing dont have mothers ?
As a 3 tour USMC 0317 combat Veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, before you judge anyone in the military, get your facts straight. I nor anyone I served with every harmed an innocent or unarmed person. Quite the opposite actually.
And Richard, pay more attention when you type, if a child is un-harmed then they can't have been killed now can they.

well, lets see now... were to believe you and not the documented reports just released?
....mmmmmmmmmmmmm dont think so.
It doesn't border on treason from my perspective. It is the real deal. This young, stupid boy released classified documents to a "whistle-blowing" website who's mission it is to publish this sort of thing to the world. He's a moron and has put our soldiers at risk. He's going to Leavenworth and should rot for 40 years... maybe he'll have time to remember his service oaths during that time.
Karen- Ignore the idiot Richard and I hope your boy makes it home safe and frankly, the US figures out what (and how) we can actually accomplish in such a messed up country. Killing the Taliban leadership was the best thing the US military has done in years and I hope we can help give the Afghani people a better shot at a peaceful life. Take care.
I wish someone would occupy our country and rid it of our corrupt government.
... would they then be freedom fighters or terrorists?? : (
.... and Karen,
Dont you think your son would better serve his country by fighting our own corrupt government?
You should be ashamed of yourself caring so little of your own country.
