Wii U promo discounts NES and SNES games for NES 30th anniversary celebration

Can you believe it's been thirty years since the Nintendo Entertainment System first launched? Keep in mind, the system was out in Japan long before it launched here in the United States. Originally launched as the Famicom (Family Computer) in 1983, the NES made it's way stateside in 1985.

To celebrate thirty long years of the NES, which hasn't had a new official title in twenty something years, Nintendo is discounting seven classes NES and Super Nintendo titles each month, all the way down to $0.30.

Each month a new game drops in price, as you can see in the picture above, the first game up with "Balloon Fight". While "Balloon Fight" certainly isn't the greatest game, it's a classic none the less.

The full list includes:

Keep in mind, you'll have only thirty days to download the game that is on sale at that time. Some of the better games in the lineup, like "Punch Out" and "Super Metroid" (one of the greatest games put together) make this promo a darn good one for Wii U owners.

"Balloon Fight" is currently available for $0.30 via the Nintendo Wii U, so get to downloading.
