Why you should eat more fruit

Recently, some people have started to cut back on their intake of fruit because they think its sugars are fattening. That's crazy! You're doing yourself and your waistline a disservice if you miss out on your recommended two servings of fruit a day.

Here are just a few reasons you should be stocking up on fruit:

  • It will help you lose weight. Fruit is low in calories and packed with water and fiber, which fill you up and keep you satisfied for longer so you don't overeat. In fact, research shows that people who eat fruit every day have lower BMIs that those who don't.
  • Fruit is packed full of nutrients. As you probably know, fruit contains natural sugar, but it's balanced by essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Make sure you eat a wide variety of fruits to get the largest benefits of these nutrients.
  • It's versatile and easy to eat. Fruit is easily consumed whole as a snack or mixed into a smoothie. It can also compliment main dishes, like meat and fish, as well as desserts.

Glad to see that a person who has the proper credentials is telling us how to eat. Oh wait you don't! If you knew anything about this you would know that BMI has little relevance to body composition. Also you'd know that fruit marketing has made consumers believe it does nothing to insulin. If you knew about this, you'd know that too much of an insulin spike (eating too much fruit) leads to storage of fat. You should realize that you have a power as a writer & it is unfortunate that everyone seems to be an expert in fitness and exercise without having to go through any real training. I have some clients who read this article thinking it is a legitimate argument. The truth is if a person is seeking fat loss they should be concerned with their sugar intake whether it comes in the form of a cookie or fruit. Sorry. I don't think you should NEVER have fruit. But this is like the alcoholics trying to say that drinking is good for you. Real fat loss report: email me memphistrainer12@yahoo.com
