Why women REALLY take so long in the bathroom: Part 2

In the dark

After a poltergeist blew about five strips of toilet paper off my seat—HOW predictable—I was finally ensconced in my stall and ready to do my thing.

That’s when it happened…

There was a slight click of a light switch and the entire restroom was bathed in darkness.

I yelped a “no! Don’t turn the light off!” as if that was going to affect anything while the woman in the stall next to mine dubiously asked no one in particular “did someone just turn the light off?” before going on a tangent.

“I can’t see anything! Oh GOD, I can’t even see my purse! Did she turn the light off? That woman that was in here before knew I was coming in! Oh my GOD this is awful! How am I supposed to wipe?” the woman prattled on before honing in on a conspiracy theory. “I saw the girl that turned the light off before I got in this stall and she had given me the nastiest look. She did this on purpose! She is just so ignorant!”

I questioned whether or not this woman knew the actual definition of “ignorant” but decided not to explore it. There were a few swatches of light leaking through the vent of the door and the woman decided to take on the covert operation of turning light back on.

Lightening up

“I’m going in!” she announced and I heard her shuffle out of the stall and into the abyss.

I’m not sure if she pulled her pants up or not and I really don’t want to know, but soon enough she managed to find the light switch and I was once again able to see my feet! I am forever indebted.

“Thank you so much!” I called to the woman as I finished washing my hands, basking in the unflattering overhead fluorescent that drenched everything before me.

“That girl was so ignorant, I swear!” was her response and I made my exit.

“What the heck took you so long?” asked Anna when I came out.

“Well I definitely wasn’t doing my makeup.”
