Many Los Angelinos are artists, performers, musicians, entrepreneurs and business owners. This is a creative town, a city of people who dream and strive to make those dreams come true. The Law of Attraction has become a useful tool for those of us who are attempting to go beyond the “conventional” life and create extraordinary life experiences.
With personal development and spiritual growth becoming more “mainstream” for today’s professionals, we are realizing that it’s one thing to understand a concept and how it works, and another to apply it, practice it and experience it actually working!
The truth is the Law of Attraction is always working. The question is, are we happy with the results? Being a Universal Law, the Law of Attraction exists on all levels whether we believe in it or not. So, if we are not getting the results we desire when attempting to apply this law towards our manifestations, then there is something that we are resisting, or something about our goal that is not in alignment with Highest Will.
What might be blocking our desires from manifesting on the level of form? Here are some possibilities and examples:
1. Our goal is not congruent with our authentic desires. We want to check in and ask ourselves if we truly want this on all levels. Success occurs when we are behind ourselves 100%. Check for any “Yes, buts…” (“Yes, I want to be a professional actor but I am terrified of rejection.”)
2. Our vibration does not match that of our desires. Everything is energy – molecules vibrating at various frequencies. If we desire a thriving therapy practice filled with clients, but subconsciously fear that we are not capable of handling the workload and responsibility, then we are actually vibrating on the level of scarcity rather than holding the frequency of abundance in our energy field. Working with a healing practitioner or coach can help identify where we may be subconsciously blocking our manifestations due to limiting beliefs about ourselves.
3. We are playing the “Blame Game”. One way to block our awareness of abundance is to hold a grievance against someone or something outside of us for our current results or our lack of results. By taking 100% accountability for our behavior, and ourselves we empower ourselves to be the change we wish to see in the world. We can ask ourselves, “Who am I being? Is this way of being congruent with my goal? If the answer is no, then we can make the necessary adjustments to re-align with the frequency of happiness, gratitude, prosperity, and peace.
4. We don’t understand the Law of Attraction accurately! Like attracts like. However, we attract what we are being not what we want. The importance of this distinction lies in the fact that our way of being exists in the NOW, where as desires are conceptual. If we want to attract love into our lives in the form of a relationship, then our thoughts, feelings (the quality of energy in our bodies), words and actions must all be in consistent alignment with that desire. We create the possibility by stepping into the being of it before we even see it with our eyes. Loving ourselves and giving our love to others in a consistent manner creates the same frequency of being in a loving relationship. We experience it in our conscious awareness, which allows us to become aware of the opportunity of that relationship in our physical awareness.
5. We have a misperception. When we claim that the Law of Attraction isn’t working, because we aren’t “attracting” what we want, we have forgotten that what we want is already right here in the now. We already have it, we just aren’t experiencing it! By claiming that what we want is already here now, we allow ourselves to be in the vibration of it now. So, rather than thinking that we need to attract something to us, we instead shift our perception to the awareness of its presence in our lives. What we desire is within, not external.
6. We are missing a step. Simply wishing, praying for and meditating on manifesting something without taking inspired action results in delay. “Opportunities in life come by creation, not by chance,” said Paramahansa Yogananda in The Law of Success. He also writes, “A wish is desire without energy.” We must take action towards our desired creations and seize the opportunities, especially when they are disguised. Sometimes, opportunity comes in the form of a challenge. Napoleon Hill called this the “sly disguises of opportunity”, in his book, Think and Grow Rich.
7. The fear of loss is greater than the hope of gain. Fear creates tunnel vision, which focuses on the fear. It cuts us off from possibilities and we miss opportunities. If we are more afraid of losing what we currently have than we are excited to gain the desires of our hearts, then we will subconsciously sabotage our manifestations in order to stay safe and comfortable right where we are currently.
8. It’s not in the Highest Good of all involved. Divine Will is that we be aware of our joy, abundance, safety and peace. We don’t always see the bigger picture and what we think we want for ourselves may not be the very best possible outcome for us. There may be an even greater happiness available to us that we aren’t yet aware of. Also, we never want our desires to violate another person’s right to choose happiness, abundance, safety and peace.
Rather than waiting for the Law of Attraction to manifest our desires, let’s choose to practice being in the emotional state that we would experience if those desires were already manifest now. The more happiness and peace we allow ourselves to experience on a daily basis, the more we share that with each other. And that’s how we raise the vibration of our communities and the world at large. As Robin Duncan of the Miracle Center of California says, “It’s always an inside job.”
