Miley Cyrus is absolutely furious with her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus for some of the statements he made in his interview in the March issue of GQ magazine.
According to one of Miley Cyrus’s friends, who anonymously gave an interview, Miley feels betrayed.
What Ticked Miley Off about Billy Ray’s GQ Interview
There were three things in particular that Billy Ray Cyrus said in his GQ interview, which really ticked Miley off.
1. Billy Ray openly bashed Disney’s Hannah Montana series, and expressed regret that he allowed Miley to star in the show.
What Billy Ray said in his GQ interview:
“I hate to say it, but yes . . . I’d take it back in a second. For my family to be here and just be everybody okay, safe and sound and happy and normal, would have been fantastic. Heck, yeah, I’d erase it all in a second if I could.” Click here to see SLIDESHOW entitled Miley Cyrus All Grown Up – No More Hannah Montana
2. Billy Ray said the Hannah Montana series was a major contributing factor to his divorce. See Billy Ray Cyrus Says Miley Cyrus’ Hannah Montana Role Destroyed Their Family (NOTE: Early rumors attributed Billy Ray Cyrus' divorce to infidelity between Tish Cyrus and Bret Michaels, which both denied)
What Billy Ray said in his GQ interview:
“It (Hannah Montana) destroyed my family. I’ll tell you right now – the damn show destroyed my family”
3. Billy Ray expressed his fears for Miley’s well-being and the company she keeps.
What Billy Ray said in his GQ interview:
"She's got a lot of people around her that's putting her in a great deal of danger. I know she's 18, but I still feel like as her daddy I'd like to try to help. Take care of her just a little bit, to at least get her out of danger." Click here to see SLIDESHOW of some of Miley’s scandalous behavior
Miley’s Take on Billy Ray’s GQ Interview, according to Her Friends
In an interview with Popeater, an unnamed friend speaking on Miley’s behalf says that Miley is upset at her dad for airing the family’s dirty laundry, and wants Billy Ray to zip his lips.
Miley’s friend said:
To say Miley is angry is an understatement. She's furious that her own flesh and blood would make a private matter so public. Who does he think he is, Michael Lohan?
So far, Miley, a very private person, has not commented publicly on how she feels about her father’s GQ interview. See Miley Cyrus Breaks Her Silence on Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus Divorce
But friends of Miley Cyrus have told Popeater, that Miley is mystified over some of her father’s remarks, and finds it "unforgivable" that he would suddenly start biting the hand that fed him, as well as discuss his daughter’s personal life.
According to Miley’s friend, Miley has a problem with her dad bashing the Hannah Montana series, now that it’s over, and views it as a betrayal since the show brought the family wealth and fame, and supported the lifestyle they lived for the past few years.
FACT: Miley Cyrus is the highest earning teenager in the United States. Last year Miley earned $48 million, coming in at #18 on Forbes annual list of Hollywood's 20 Highest Earners for 2010
FACT: Billy Ray Cyrus was paid $12,000 - $15,000 per week for his role as Hannah Montana’s father/manager in the series, which had its final episode earlier this year.
Miley’s friend sums up Miley’s sentiments by saying:
"He never said a bad world about 'Hannah Montana' all those years it made millions for the family, and now that Miley has turned 18 and is making her own decisions, he does this. Unforgivable."
Let’s hope this won’t cause a permanent rift between father and daughter, especially since Miley and her dad have had such a close relationship all these years.
What Miley and Billy Ray need to do is get together, and sit down with each other, and have a talk to clear the air.
