Matt Lauer, 56, hosted the NBC "Today" show last Friday while wearing a shorts suit, according to E Online. Some say he was channeling Pharrell Williams’ style since the suit was similar to the one Williams popularized in 2012 at the Oscars and again in 2013 when he wore a Lanvin suit. Like Williams, Lauer showed a lot of leg.
The well known "Today" show co-host was a good sport as he modeled the latest trend in menswear during a fashion segment of the show. Lauer appeared on the air in an unconventional suit to demonstrate the latest in what some guys are wearing. In fact, all the men on the morning talk show hosted in something other than their usual attire. Along with Lauer, co-host Willie Geist showed off Pitbull's rolled-up white pants from the World Cup Opening Ceremony. Co-host Al Roker wore the sneakers-and-suit trend like that of Justin Timberlake.
From his normal desk position, Lauer just looked like he was wearing a very stylish suit. But when he stood up, viewers could see his entire outfit. Lauer's attire drew a lot of attention and laughter from the women co-hosts. They admitted they had a hard time looking at him with a straight face. Suvannah Guthrie couldn't keep from laughing as she reported standing beside Lauer. Natalie Morales said, “You will never be able to unsee this.”
USA Today also reported the story about Lauer's bare legs on national television. Lauer is considered a conservative dresser, but Friday morning he left his conservative clothes at home. Even though Lauer has been hosting the "Today" show since 1997, this is the first time he has dressed this way.
