Fans may not know his name but his famous tune "Great Balls of Fire" is catching wind in celebrity press today after Lewis appeared on "The View". At 74 years old, the music legend touched hearts on TV and is rumored to be coming to the big screen (again) in a Brad Pitt-led biopic.
The Jerry Lee Lewis Movie
Played by Brad Pitt and reportedly starring Natalie Portman, the eastern Louisiana native's life will be portrayed on the big screen once more (the first was in 1989 in Great Balls of Fire). Co-starring with Brad Pitt, will be Natalie Portman and reports say the biopic is already "in the works".
Jerry Lee Lewis on "The View"
Helping to create buzz for the Music Hall of Famer, the ladies of "The View" invited Lewis to offer tribute on their show. Promoting songs from his new album, Mean Old Men, Lewis also charmed the old-timers by singing his "Great Balls of Fire" classic.
Before performing his solo on the piano, Jerry Lee Lewis mentioned someone "would enjoy this" - That someone being his son, Jerry Lee Lewis, Jr. One of six of Lewis' children (from six marriages), Lewis' son was the eldest and killed in an automobile accident in 1973 - He was 20 years old.
