“Teen Mom” star Maci Bookout has been keeping a low profile lately, as the original “Teen Mom” show has not been filming for MTV. However, she hasn't been keeping up with her duties as a profitable speaker and a business owner. According to new rumors, Maci has been cheating with her taxes to keep more of the money to herself. According to a new Radar Online report published on June 5, “Teen Mom” star Maci Bookout is in serious hot water with the IRS, which has placed a lien on her.
The IRS claims that she owes them nearly $80,000 in back taxes. She supposedly didn't pay everything she owed them back in 2011. So, was she making a mistake or thinking that she could get away with it? Perhaps, MTV was taking a share of her paycheck when she was filming the show, meaning she didn't have to worry about the taxes herself. After she started doing speaking engagements, she may have forgotten to pay the tax on those earnings.
But it sounds like she wasn't deliberately trying to cheat. And yet, she isn't making an effort to pay it off. “She’s in denial,” a source told In Touch about her situation. “She’s been telling people that she’s working on paying it back, but very little progress has been made.” And many wonders if she does have $80,000 in her account to pay what she owes. Of course, she has been spending her money flying back and forth between her home state of Tennessee and Dallas, where her boyfriend lives.
One can only imagine that all of those flights would cost a pretty penny. “Luckily, Taylor is planning to move to Tennessee to live with Maci very soon, which will be good because it will take some of the financial load off of her,” a second insider revealed. “She needs to find a way to pay back this money. She’s gotten herself into a lot of trouble.”
Apparently, Maci is currently unemployed and is finding ways to make money via Twitter and advertising deals with various companies. Do you think that she is planning on paying the money back?
