Why Hillary Clinton will not run for president in 2016

I'm not at all worried about Hillary Clinton running and supposedly being the huge favorite to win the Democrat nomination and be our next president. Hillary will not even run for president at all in 2016. That's right, I said Hillary is not going to run in 2016. Everyone mark it down, including those who think I'm going to be spectacularly wrong on this prediction. Mark it down, the creator of UnSkewed Polls predicts Hillary Clinton will not run for president in 2016.

Look at the picture of Hillary, featured with this article. Many will remember, that is Hillary Clinton, shortly before stepping down as Secretary of State, appearing before Congress to testify about the Benghazi tragedy. Yes, that was the day she appeared before Congress wearing that green suit and those glasses. Hillary shouted repeatedly, “What difference does it make” to several of the questions asked by Senators, and many wondered why was she wearing those glasses when we hadn't see Hillary wearing glasses before. The answer to that question, more than Benghazi itself, begins to answer the question of why and how Hillary will not run for president in 2016.

ABCNews reported on January 25, 2013 that an aide to Hillary Clinton confirmed why she was wearing the glasses, "She'll be wearing these glasses instead of her contacts for a period of time because of lingering issues stemming from her concussion," said spokesman Philippe Reines. "With them on she sees just fine."

Furthermore, the ABC News story reported specifically on the type of glasses Hillary was wearing, “Reines did not specify what type of lens the secretary was wearing, but medical experts say a fresnel prism is common in cases like these. Fresnel prisms usually come in the form of a piece of thin, transparent plastic that can be adhered to existing lenses. The special grooves in these prisms change the way light enters the eye, making them useful in treating double vision.”

The same story cited Dr. James Liu, director for the Center for Skull Base and Pituitary Surgery at the Neurological Institute of New Jersey as state such glasses are often used to treat “blurred or double vision” that results from concussions and head injuries.

"It is possible that blurred or double vision can last up to weeks and even months," he said. "This really depends on the severity of the head injury. In cases of concussions, these symptoms are usually temporary and eventually resolve with time."

Writing for on January 9, 2013, Mary Stanik describes Hillary's health crisis that occurred shortly before she was wearing the glass, “It may have surprised many people last month when it was revealed that the seemingly indefatigable Secretary of State Hillary Clinton suffered from a dehydrating stomach virus that caused her to faint and then sustain a concussion (and in receiving treatment for the concussion, a blood clot near her brain was discovered). I’m not among those people.”

That health crisis is not the only factor Stanik mentioned in pondering the overall issues of Hillary Clinton's health and aging that are clearly reasonable factors to consider in assessing whether a person is fit to be president for possibly the next eight years, almost a decade, of their life.

Stanik continued, “One doesn’t need to be a physician (and I’m not, though I was a spokesperson for years for the University of Minnesota Academic Health Center) to have seen that Clinton has not appeared exactly bright-eyed and bushy-tailed of late. She looks to have gained a significant amount of weight since 2008. She seems pale, tired, and yes, aged. She’s said that she would like to know again what it’s like to not be tired.”

Hillary Clinton was born on October 26, 1947. If she were to be elected president in 2016, she would 69 years of age upon taking office. Ronald Reagan turned 70 shortly after taking office as president. Seeing Hillary in public now, and in comparison to Ronald Reagan vigorously campaigning for the presidency in 1980, makes it clear that Hillary has no where near the level of energy or stamina that Ronald Reagan had in 1980. There is no way I could imagine Hillary standing up in a debate, and strongly pronouncing, "I am paying for this microphone, Mr. Green."

Hillary herself will decide not to run, because she will realize she lacks the health and stamina to endure a rigorous presidential campaign let alone four to eight years in the presidency itself. Clearly, Hillary is going to forego the presidential contest of 2016 and enjoy the remainder of her life not holding elected office.

The Wall Street Journal reported just more than two months ago, in a story titled “Hillary Clinton's Circle Isn't Sure She Should Run for President in 2016” that some in her inner circle are advising Hillary Clinton not to run for president in 2016. The story says that, “One of Mrs. Clinton's top advisers and former aides, Cheryl Mills, believes she should stay out of the contest and has told her as much, according to people familiar with her views.”

That is my prediction and I stand behind it. Hillary Clinton will not run for president in 2016.
