Banking on the absence of American interest or intellect, GOP proceeds with the most absurd and unreasonable legislative behavior ever exercised in the history of Congress.
The United States Constitution was created as a model of cooperative statesmanship and the art of compromise. This model established a government of three branches; legislative(Congress), executive(President), and judiciary(Supreme Court).
The Constitution grants Congress powers to declare war, establish laws, approves a budget, to coin money and to borrow money on the credit of the United States.
It is unconstitutional to shut down the government for selfish or political reasons when the Constitution was created to establish a government of, for and by the people in pursuit of a more perfect union.û
Yet, the GOP has engaged in a personal vendetta that has very little to do with legislation since the election of this nation's first black President, President Barack Obama.
The 113th Congress has signed only a mere 15 bills into law as of August 2013. Zero bills for jobs or revenue have been introduced since 2009 from Congress. Senate Minority Mitch McConnell(R) Kentucky said privately after President Obama took office in 2009, it was imperative to make President Obama a one term president. McConnell would later announce in an interview with the National Journal on October 23, 2010, "the single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.&uot;
House Speaker John Boehner (R) Ohio stated on July 21, 2013, " don't judge us on how many laws we make, but we ought to be judged on how many laws we repeal."
What the Speaker should have said is how many failed attempts can they aim at toward one law. 40. The ACA or Obamacare is one of the few laws the GOP co-created, but are hell bent to repeal.
To put in perspective the unproductivity of Congress in 1992 , 347 laws were passed, in 1996, 245 and 2000, 410 laws were enacted, but in the year 2012, just 61 laws were signed. Defunding Obamacare is not only an act of uncooperation, but dishonesty as well.
Disguising oneself as a lawmaker in the public's eye and then disregard all legal ethics is fraudulent. This is the actions of the GOP
since accumulating trillions of dollars in debt from 2 unaffordable wars and an unregulated Wall Street under George W. Bush that has yet to be paid for by a
"pretentious misrepresenting responsible budget avoiding GOP led House."
The reason the extremists of the GOP hasn't pursued excellence to represent Americans is their loyalty and being beholden to Koch Industries and the 1% funding. The paychecks from American taxpayers is gravy for standing on name only, expect no legislation as long as they can get away with their selfishness.
