A very full silence lies behind the sound of the voice, the sound of mantra. A deep mastery of silence is to have a deep power of the speech. That silence is the silence of the voice and the silence of the inner voice is the source of mantra. If your life is deeply imbued by silence you convey the wonderful quality out from you to others.
Deep states of silence are healing
Even just silence of the voice, if you can maintain the silence accelerates the healing and concentration process. The voice doesn’t distract you from the deep states of the inner healing states. If you are upset, hurt or sad, maybe physically ill stay in a quit environment, it conserves energy for the body mind and soul that can be used in other ways.
When the inner voice is silent
The mind becomes very pure. “Purification of mind.” It’s a deep very profound transparency of being. Pure consciousness.
The link between silence, inner silence, and love
If you want to know someone’s love, look at their state of inner silence. The measure of someone’s depth inner silence, the stillness of someone’s being, is the measure of love. When the mind becomes quiet, pleasant and pure, the heart blossoms and opens right up. The measure of love just shines right through that being.
The power of going through the mind’s chatter into the stillness
Inner quiet is very important to work with. Shutting down the inner voice in a world of chaos of noise and constant activity is hard to completely shut down. But you may be able to come to a place where you can shut it down when you need to.
The silence at the source of the mind, the root, is a reality in its own right and always with us. The mind is not always participating in that silence. Practice and mediation, contemplation develop quietude. When you stop even just for a few days the full blown chatter will be going on again.
Something is needed
Intention. The babbling of inner chatter is stopped when you pause to realize things of beauty. When you come back to awareness you realize the mind begins talking again. The brain talks. You are trying to stop what is a basic neurological habit.
Never struggle with it
Never use force or violence to stop it. It makes more noise; you give more power to the reality you are trying to resist. It’s one of the important things about the mind. You have to be very gentle in trying to resist.
“Captain don’t struggle, the force field uses the very energy of your resistance to hold you,” Spock
That’s kind of what the mind does, what you try to resist with the mind will only tighten its grip on you all the more. Fifty-percent of practice is learning how to delicately tune in to where you want to tune in to, the other fifty-percent is delicately learning to let go of everything else.
3 methods to work with stillness:
1. Move your attention back in there where the noise is and very gently quiet it. And it quiets it. Keep repeating that process, it’s soothing and very effective.
2. Put your attention into the throat area, a subtle tension exists in the vocal chords and back of the tongue, or the Adams apple. It’s an energy channel, a chakra. The link between mental chatter and verbal chatter is very strong. In the mental chatter the voice is not engaged. They are coming from the same place; the root activity is the same. Allow the awareness to permeate this area and feel the tension unbind and you will feel the inner voice unbind. Sentences will fall apart and break up as it comes apart to quiet.
3. The purest way, takes more practice. Simply tune in to the quality of the silence of the mind behind your voice and your mind chatter. Just feel it, allow it to permeate you more importantly. Bathe yourself in that full sensitive quality of inner silken. Participate in it and give yourself over to it.
