Remember when Rush Limbaugh joined the rest of modern society and got himself a verified Twitter account? Yeah, that was some hot news -- enough to garner him an instant 300,000+ followers. Well as of Feb. 3, 2013, it appears that El Rushbo's online persona is as dead as the GOP's hopes of regaining popularity. You would figure the guy would take advantage of all Twitter has to offer, but instead of doing that he's sticking to his talk radio program -- which is surprisingly popular.
Are there any guesses as to why Rush hasn't been using his Twitter account? The last tweet on the verified account was posted back in October of 2012, and it was really nothing more than some anti-Obama propaganda. On the other hand, when you search for "Rush Limbaugh" in the search panel on Twitter, there is a slew of activity mentioning the man once touted as the leader of the GOP. Upon some light research it appears that there might be a reason why Rushbo has been staying away from the popular microblogging network. You see, the vast majority of posts about Limbaugh are negative in nature -- and for obvious reasons.
Rush Limbaugh has been a wildly controversial public figure since Obama took office, but it appears that a lot of his negative attitude is directed toward women -- as was made apparent during the whole Sandra Fluke ordeal. So it's probably safe to say that Rush and his people might not have been able to handle the negative attention the account was getting. That's just speculation, however, because it's simply not known why the rotund republican radio personality doesn't seem to like Twitter!
