What's up everybody? There's a lot of great community theater out there, and it's important not to sleep on it. If you're a young actor, building credits, there's nothing quite like it; you won't make money, but you'll get priceless experience. There's also lots to be learned by simply taking in a show and observing. Community theater actors are some of the hardest working, and skilled actors around!
2nd Star Productions in Bowie, Maryland, is putting on a play I think you should see, it's a British farce called It Runs in the Family. Here's 2nd Star's official spiel on it:
2nd Star Productions proudly presents the hilarious comedy It Runs in the Family
by Ray Cooney, Directed by Jane B. Wingard
This hysterical farce takes place in the Doctors' Lounge of Saint Andrews Hospital, London, three days before Christmas, as Dr.David Mortimore, the noted neurologist, is preparing a possibly career propelling speech for neurologists from far and wide. At that moment a former nurse from the hospital arrives with the news that she had left her position 18 years prior as she had been expecting David's "love child" and that child is now downstairs insisting on meeting "Daddy". The chaos begins.
