You may think regular sale items are the only way to get the best deal when using coupons, but I have found this is not so. Many are led to think that in order to get a buy one get one free deal, you must buy both items. This is a common myth here in Columbia. The majority of stores here in our area do not require you to purchase both items in order to get that great BOGO discount. Stores such as Bi-lo, Publix, Food Lion, Kroger and Piggly Wiggly, will ring up buy one get one free items half off. This makes it so you can use a coupon on one item and get the best discount.
For example, let's say that Publix is advertising a certain item for $2.99 as a buy one get one free deal, so you buy two for the price of one. Each item will ring up at $1.49. If you happen to have a coupon for $0.50 off and your store doubles coupons, you will walk away paying only $0.49 for an item that usually retails at $2.99. Guess what? You just saved $2.50 on that item.
Normally items that are not advertised as buy one get one free will usually only allow you to save $1 at the most, unless it is a close out price which you rarely find. So next time you are searching through a sales ad for some great couponing deals, check out the BOGO deals first!
