Seven different artists are nominated for one of the "big three" categories at the 2010 Grammy Awards, and six of them will be performing at the ceremony. The lone exception? Rock band Kings of Leon.
Why aren't Kings of Leon performing at the Grammys? Given that the band's smash hit "Use Somebody" is up for both Record and Song of the Year, it's hard to imagine they weren't extended a performance invitation.
Perhaps the answer is that Kings of Leon simply don't want to perform. Singer Caleb Followill suggested as much during a December interview with Spin Magazine.
Followill seemed embarrassed at the group's Grammy recognition, telling Spin, "We definitely got bigger than we wanted to be. You feel like you've done something wrong. That woman in mom jeans who'd never let me date her daughter? She likes my music. That's f---ing not cool."
It's likely that Kings of Leon turned down a performance slot, which then went to Green Day instead.
Followill's wish for Grammy obscurity may be in vain; Kings of Leon have a very good shot to challenge Taylor Swift for both Record and Song of the Year. Kings of Leon already have one Grammy under their belts, having claimed Best Rock Group Performance at last year's Grammys for "Sex on Fire."
The 2010 Grammy Awards air on CBS on January 31.

You can't choose who likes your music. It's a little ridiculous to complain about "Moms" liking your music. I'm sure they don't mind spending the money.
LOL Liz! I am sure my mom doesn't like the music I listen to. LOL!
