In 2008 there were only 149 anti-government militia groups across the land then in 2012 there’s been an eightfold increase to 1,360 “patriot groups” according to the Southern Poverty Law Center. Could it be because people like Attorney General Eric Holder said Monday, “The U.S. can kill American citizens without trial?”
The increase coincides with the election of President Obama with his gun control agenda. This week’s fiasco adds fuel to the fire that America is headed down the path described in the movie V for Vendetta. The movie is about Parliament in the future when fear thrusts a dictator into power that leads to shall we say similar crimes committed by Hitler. But there’s someone who makes a dramatic stand against the statist government.
The media paints these patriot groups as a threat to society comparing them to Timothy McVeigh when in reality they just want to protect themselves from a government that’s overstepped its bounds. If this administration continues its present course they will finally unite America but not in the fashion they had in mind. America will be united against the government.
The writing’s on the wall, either American’s will stand against tyranny as the Constitution instructs us to or we will fall and become the fearful manipulated populace that the movie portrays.
