Why are some animals seen as food while others are not?

Have you ever thought to yourself, “Why are some animals seen as food while others are not?” Many people make a strong distinction between their pets and the animals they eat. But what’s the real difference between the two? Don’t chickens feel pain in the same way that dogs and cats do? Don’t pigs experience joy when love surrounds them? Don't cows feel sad when they are being abused and/or neglected?

Maybe people make this distinction between animals because it’s just the way society teaches us to think. But it’s time to start thinking for ourselves. If you’re ready to start loving all animals equally, or if you just want to learn more about why all animals deserve to be treated with respect, love, and dignity, please visit Colorado’s very own Peaceful Prairie Sanctuary website. And better yet, take a trip out there to see all of the lovely animals they have rescued.
