Sorry, boys. It looks like the newest, biggest redesign to Apple's iPhone iOS 7 is hand-picked to be especially for the female persuasion. Arriving originally on September 18th, the new system not only has brought fans and users a change in function and efficiency, but in beauty as well. Yet is this new face a little too pretty for guys?
There is no doubt additional functionality has been added to the system. Any true geek or Apple fan out there wouldn't be satisfied with just aesthetics alone.
Let's hit a few of the more major changes:
1. Control Center
The addition of the Control Center for iOS was a much needed one. Not only does it make everything more accessible regardless of what you are currently doing on your phone, but it places important shortcuts to things you use most commonly.
In particular, adding the camera shortcut here might at first seem like an afterthought, given that the lock screen has this and you most likely already use your main shortcut on the homepage, but this allows you to deposit the main shortcut nicely into a folder instead of it taking up extra wall space. It also makes it easy to take photos no matter what you are currently using your phone for. We've all had those random, I-need-my-camera-right-now times where we have to capture something in the moment. The features with iOS's camera and photo albums have also significantly improved, but we'll touch more on that below.
The control panel also features the addition of a flashlight app for iPhone. For a long time now, people have been using third party apps for this function, so it's unsurprising Apple would make it a native ability of its software. This new feature is especially useful for women. Let's face it, ladies. Yes, women can kick a lot of ass sometimes, but at the end of the night when you are walking to your car or using your keys to get into your house, a light is pretty appreciated.
2. Photography and Photo Albums
The albums have been organized different than in prior iOS versions. A lot of detail has gone into making the interface for albums more visually appealing, and tagging them by location. You'll also find some new editing abilities to use once you've taken a photo--like adding filters to your photos. As more and more consumers are using their phones to take photos, the need for built in editing programs seems obviously more necessary. This goes almost double for women, who often take a lot more pictures and share them socially more than men. Women especially consist and are attracted to photo based social networks like Instagram and Pinterest.
3. Graphical Redesign
The redesign of Apple's iOS is a little hard to take at first glance. It is bright, abruptly different, and unfamiliar to fans who have spent years staring at the same familiar screens. Even when new features were added to the OS, you still had the comforting good old Apple design waiting for you.
Even still, once you get past this initial shock the new design adds a much needed modern, sleek, and clean look. It flattens out the old 3D bubble design of the interface, and lights up your screen with crisp bright colors that could be particularly appealing to women. Even the font face has this new, light, and slightly hipster twist.
All in all, girls with iPhones everywhere are probably pretty excited over this new release!
