You'd think that the ancient world had cloning.
There's the Jesus of the Jehovah's, and the Jesus of the Mormons, the Jesus of the Protestants, and the Jesus of the historical demythologizers--oddly, quite often 'Catholic.' There's the Jesus who is Satan's brother, and the Jesus who is St. Michael the Archangel's brother. There is the Jesus totally ignorant of His public ministry, that is, until He is enlightened by a tag team effort performed by the Holy Spirit and St. John the Baptist, at His public baptism. There is the Jesus of Gnostic gospels, and the Jesus of the Islamic faith.
Quite simply, there are so many Jesus' that He would make Elvis impersonators, at an Elvis convention, blush!
Yet, how true are these Jesus'?
Could it possibly be true that there is only One?
"I am reminding you, brothers and sisters,
of the Gospel I preached to you,
which you indeed received and in which you also stand.
Through it you are also being saved,
if you hold fast to the word I preached to you,
unless you believed in vain." 1 Corinthians 15:1-8
Without attempting to offend people of various faiths--all truly seeking Truth, all searching with dignity and reverence--the Truth must be told. The Jesus of St's. Peter, John, Paul, and all of the Apostles, to include Matthew, Mark, and Luke, is the very same Jesus handed forth, in faith, to the Second Century St. Ignatius of Antioch, and St. Justin Martyr. Through Scripture and Apostolic Tradition, not to mention seven sacraments crowned in the Eucharist, this very same Jesus not only was handed on to such greats as St Augustine and St Thomas Aquinas, but lived in, and through, countless saints in countless prayers and countless confessionals and countless holy Eucharistic receptions.
History, sound and honest history, reveals One Jesus in One Church, with One unbroken presence, sacramentally, Spiritually, and 'Apostolically.' And that Presence is the Catholic Presence of the One Jesus Christ.
"Not a word nor a discourse
whose voice is not heard;
Through all the earth their voice resounds,
and to the ends of the world, their message." Psalm 19:2-5
This does not mean that truths in other faiths are not true, or faith and love in other faiths is a falsity. Rather, it means that all Truth, all faith, and all Love come from the One Jesus Christ. The fullness, not the exclusivity of these graces, are found in the Catholic Church.
After all, 'the Spirit blows where it wills.' But the Spirit emanates, first, from the Body and Bride of Christ (the Catholic Church), then to the world.
"Jesus said to Thomas, 'I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.
If you know me, then you will also know my Father.'" John 14:6-14
The Eucharist is the greatest treasure of the Catholic faith because it is the very Presence of the Risen Jesus Christ, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity. At the Catholic Mass the Sacrifice of Jesus is perpetuated, not reproduced and redone, and Communion with the Most Holy Trinity, and the angels and saints in heaven, is offered and received by the faithful participants. Jesus enters the Catholic soul in a most intimate way, and takes that soul with Him to the Father in Heaven.
This is a mystery that does not rely on the greatness of the Catholic person.
Rather, it is a gift from God for the world. A gift of Jesus in us, in a most intimate way, so that we can share Him with the world. That is why, along with indisputable history, that the One True Jesus is found in the Catholic Church...for the world.
