As more and more people are going into business for themselves due to poor job security and a bad economy, the Rodan + Fields Dermatologists business model and products are capturing the attention of entrepreneurs across the U.S. and Canada. One of the newest consultants to join the doctors who created Proactive is Mary Gilson Watts, a manager with a national chain of drug stores.

Watts, who has also worked with Mary Kay, began her career at as a beauty adviser 14 years ago before working as a licensed pharmacy tech for six years and then moving into management. She now serves as the assistant store manager at her store in Nashville's Belle Meade community.

She was introduced to the business on a skin care yacht cruise. Impressed by the four lines of products for aging skin and hearing rumors of a new product coming out this fall that promises to turn the skin care world upside down, Watts made the decision to launch her own anti-aging business.

Signing up with Rodan + Fields a week before her wedding, she went on her honeymoon and came back to host two business launch parties before the month was up. By the end of the month Watts had promoted to the next level and earned back her $695 business investment.

After attending a skin care meeting in Goodlettsville, TN, Watts who lives across town in Nashviille's Grassmere area, took the time to answer a few questions about why a retail manager would chose to go into business with the Stanford trained dermatologists during such a busy time in her life.

Skin, Health & Beauty Examiner: What attracted you to Rodan + Fields?
Mary Watts: I was impressed with their results in skin care with the latest technology and the research they do. The results back up the claims. And I like getting my products at a discount!

Skin, Health & Beauty Examiner: What is your personal experience so far with the products?
Mary Watts: Although I just started using the products a couple of weeks ago when I got back from my honeymoon, I have already seen very positive results. My pores are smaller, a few blemishes I had have disappeared and my skin looks better overall.

Skin, Health & Beauty Examiner: How would you compare Rodan + Fields to the skin care products you have sold through Mary Kay and retail?
Mary Watts: Rodan + Fields ingredients are higher quality, and the results surpass over-the-counter products. I would compare Rodan + Fields as being closer to a prescription.
