Whooping Cranes, a five foot tall bird is having migration problems. Whooping cranes usually migrate from Wisconsin to Florida for the winter, but now have been stalled in West Tennessee. The cold and wet weather, that switches on and off has stopped them from moving on to the Florida’s coast.
Things are looking a little better, with local temperatures dropping and winds that are dying down, and Operation Migration is hopeful that the whooping cranes will be moving on soon. Operation Migration watches over the whooping cranes during the migration south and north in the spring.
Many people are curious about the migration and why the whooping cranes have been delayed, and it has created quite the internet buzz on Tuesday.
