Worried about your waistline as Thanksgiving nears? Fear now. With some willpower and the right information, you can enter into the new year with a resolution other than losing holiday weight.

Thanks to Breathe, Whole Foods and Amanda Skrip, natural foods chef and wellness consultant, you can learn how to prepare diet-friendly holiday foods or attend events without blowing your diet. All of this is available through a three-paret series that begins Tuesday, November 9, at Whole Foods on Halsted and Waveland. All events begin at 6:30 p.m.

"Breathe and Amanda Skrip co-created this series to offer a different take on the holiday spirit when it comes to eating," said Breathe founder Justin Henderson. "The holidays don't have to be about over-indulgence, which leaves you feeling sick afterward. Instead, we want to help guests truly enjoy fresh, healthy, high quality food that will keep you feeling good after you eat it, and share the occasion with friends who value living well. That's what the series is all about: celebrating good food and good friends for the holidays."

The first event will feature a cooking demonstratino and wine-tasting, which includes curried squash soup shooters with coconut milk;
warm wheel of brie with dried fruit compote; caesar salad endive spoons with garlicky-crouton; cold roasted shrimp with zesty herb sauce; and desserts paired with warm apple cider. Each course will be paired with a wine, as well.

Tickets for the first event are $25 if purchased in advance. Learn more at http://bit.ly/wholeholiday .
