A Whole Food Market will be opening in Frisco, Co this spring, offering much needed jobs and hopes of prosperity for year around residents. Peek at the classifieds in the local Summit Daily News or pull up the jobs on High Rockies Craigslist and you will find a number of jobs posted daily in all categories. But this is February and in the middle of an E\epic ski season. Check the want ads a few weeks from now and it will be a different story.
For many year-around residents in Summit County, it is feast or famine most of the time which makes it hard to keep up with a regular life. During a good ski season, from about mid November until around mid-April, work in many industries in the area is plentiful and jobs are available for those willing to take them. But during the off seasons of mid April through the end of June, and again from October until the start of the ski season, work is scarce.
Whole Foods Market is one of Fortune's 100 best companies to work for and they have over 100 full and part time positions to fill in every department from produce, to bakery, catering, cashier, and more. They are hiring for associates, supervisors and management.
Offering a wide array of natural and organic products for your kitchen, home, and body, Whole Foods will be a very welcomed addition to our small but growing county. Our remote location and distance from major metro areas can sometimes make quality groceries and other supplies hard to find or at a huge mark-up. There are a few locally owned health-food type of store around, but the section is small and prices often high. Summit County is eagerly awaiting the opening of the Whole Foods Market with hopes of bringing affordable natural products and much needed year-around jobs.
