The Great American Beer Festival is on! Oct 10 through the 12th many beers will be served, enjoyed, and judged in Denver, Colorado. The Great American Beer Festival (GABF) has been around since 1982 growing year after year. The booths at this year's festival are organized by region. The Mountain region has the largest group of booths likely from the geographic location of the festival. The Great Lakes has the second largest bank of booths followed closely by the Pacific region. While the Mid-West is one of the smaller regions showing Nebraska has a stalwart brewery showing at the festival.
Nebraska Brewery Company, brewery and restaurant, of Papillion and Zipline Brewing Company of Lincoln reflect some of the newer winning beers in the area and are both showing at the festival. NBC has medals from regional and national competitions dating back to 2010. Zipline won the 2013 Nebraska Beer Festival Best Nebraska Beer for their Golden Ale. Zipline is dedicated to beer while NBC has both a bar area and dining area that flow nicely together. NBC has recently released a new menu with many fresh options along with their tried and true beer inspired offerings.
Additionally, Loop Brewing Company of McCook and Lucky Bucket Brewing Company of LaVista are set to be at the Great American Beer Festival. Loop Brewing Company opened in McCook in 2011 with a smooth craft ale made on site. Loop Brewing Company serves pizza, a great tradition-beer and pizza. Lucky Bucket, like Zipline, does not include a restaurant. The Lucky Bucket Brewing Company focuses on barrel-aged flavor and has distribution channels in the upper Mid-West and Tennessee allowing for fans to find them in retail outlets outside the Nebraska area.
