TMZ.com first reported that Elin Nordegren physically attacked her husband Tiger Woods after she confronted him over his alleged affair with New York events planner Rachel Uchitel. Woods denounced the "false" rumors on his Web site. Uchitel strongly denied that affair and reports that she and Woods were "sexting."
Nordegren was born New Year's Day 1980 in Stockholm. He parents divorced when she was 6.
She met Woods in 2001 during the British Open while she and her twin sister Josefin were working as nannies for Swedish golfer Jesper Parnevik. Woods asked her out at first through a friend but she declined. But Woods kept calling Parnevik to convince Nordegren to go out with him and she finally agreed.
They were engaged in 2003 and married a year later. Their wedding reportedly cost $1.4 million. The couple's daughter Sam Alexis was born in 2007 and son Charlie Axel in 2009.
She apparently has a rift with her father, Thomas Nordegren, who told the Associated Press that they don't talk.
Nordegren had worked as a model in Sweden. Shortly after her relationship with Woods became public, she was the victim of an Internet hoax over nude photographs. Those circulating the photos claimed they were of Nordegren but they were not.
