Is Michael Scott the best TV boss of all time?
View the slideshow and place your votes.

TV bosses, whether you like them or hate them, are usually a reflection of our own bosses at the office.  Some are liked, many of them are hated.  Regardless, they are a group of characters worth celebrating.

The slideshow below contains only 20 of the bosses from a larger set of bosses available to select from in the poll below.  Vote for your favorites in the poll below or add your own in the comments below and they will be added to the poll.

On January 10th, 2010, the boss with the most votes will be announced as the best TV boss of all time.

I guess I really shouldn't vote since out of all those shows, I've only seen 6 of them. And a couple of them only once or twice. Oops, guess I gotta update my TV viewing!

    What? No Josh McIntyre?
Seinfeld's J. Peterman is perfect: confusing, misdirected, and unintentional sexually harrassing.
Victor Kiriakis...reproduces VERY well (daughter Jennifer!!), but Tony Soprano isn't afraid to kill those close to him, has regular meetings with an agenda, "motivates" his staff, sets VERY clear goals, communicates well, and is the "face" of his business...but still gives credit where credit is due.
    "T" is the boss.

Great list. If Michael Scott, Ron Swanson, and Jack Donaghey don't end up in the top 5, I'm boycotting this vote. To think that all three of these guys appear on the same night on NBC is amazing (considering NBC would not be on television if it were not for these 3 guys)

I completely disagree. If Captain Kirk is not the greatest TV boss of all time, then the world might as well end. No one captured the spirit of leadership and had the natural born leadership of Captain Kirk.

Who the F is Victor Kiriakis?

How can you leave off Jack McCoy from Law & Order? That guy symbolizes bad a** boss dude. Nobody f**ks with Jack McCoy. No one.

What about Wilhelmina Slater from Ugly Betty? She's a force to be reckoned with.

I can assure you that no one from the show Ugly Betty will be appearing on this list.

What about Mr. Arthur Carlson from WKRP in Cincinnati?

    Baby, if you've ever wondered,
    Wondered whatever became of me,
I'm living on the air in Cincinnati,
    Cincinnati, WKRP.

Got kind of tired packing and unpacking,
Town to town and up and down the dial
Maybe you and me were never meant to be,
But baby think of me once in awhile.

    I'm at WKRP in Cincinnati

I honestly don't know if I've ever seen a more comprehensive list of TV bosses in my entire life. This is good stuff.

heather needs cable and a dvr. some things you just can't learn in a book...unless of course it is TV Guide.
