Matt Flynn is the current drummer for Maroon 5 who released Overexposed earlier this year. The track "Love Somebody" relies heavily on synth but Flynn's beats can still be heard, even if they do sound a bit canned. Don't know much about Flynn? He started as a temporary replacement for original drummer Ryan Dusick. Dusick was deteriorating from constant touring and, as he described, unable to perform at the same level. Flynn became a permanent member in 2006.
Before Maroon 5, Matt drummed for the B-52's and Gavin Degraw and therefor earning him the rightful place with Maroon 5 when their single, "Love Somebody," debuted at 54 on the Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at number 10. The same track reached 1 and 2 on Billboard's Pop Songs and Adult Pop Songs. The numbers suggesting the band's falling out of favor among other overly produced, highly auto-tuned artists.
To Matt's credit he's quoted as saying he still doesn't know the meaning of Maroon 5's name - "I don't even know. I don't really care, but I don't know." According to Maroon 5's website, Matt's favorite color is green, which also happens to be the color of money.
