Who is Leon Sandcastle? New NFL draft pick headed to the Chiefs?

So who is Leon Sandcastle? According to scouts on the TV commercial, he may be "an uglier version of Deion Sanders," but he's got the skills to be the #1 draft pick, should the Kansas City Chiefs seriously want him in the draft.

According to a report from Eurweb on Jan. 3, a Leon Sandcastle Twitter already exists, based on the "new NFL star." The NFL ad which was shown during last night's Super Bowl 2013 featured current NFL analyst, and former player, Deion Sanders, getting his makeup done as several ESPN analysts talked over the current young stars of the game. They include Robert Griffin III of Washington, Andrew Luck of Indianapolis and Russell Wilson of Seattle. That prompts Deion to comment on his rookie year, with the makeup stylist asking "Did you play football?"

That question leads to Sanders deciding to re-enter the league in the hilarious spot. He dons an afro wig and bushy mustache, then shows up for the draft combine, reporting in as "Leon Sandcastle." That raises eyebrows from the check-in guys, but it's the athletic display during the combine drills and tests that really raise eyebrows.

Sandcastle becomes a buzzing household name from there, and eventually it brings him to the NFL Draft 2013 edition where Kansas City drafts him with their #1 choice. Upon showing off his jersey with the commissioner on stage, Leon's asked "have we ever met before?" and he tells him "I don't think so."

With that, a new NFL star, or advertising star, is born. Sanders, or Sandcastle, tweeted about the ad a day after the Super Bowl:

"@DeionSanders I patterned some of my shine after Prime's. But we're 2 different ppl! Guess we gotta meet up and show 'em. #Sandcastle"

The televised ad was shown during last night's Super Bowl 2013 on CBS, but is also seen here at NFL.com videos. For those wondering, it's advertising the Scouting Combine and NFL Draft 2013 on the NFL Network. More info can be seen at NFL.com Primetime.
