One reason for Elin Nordegren’s People magazine interview is that she wants people to know who she really is.
Elin is aware that the Tiger Woods infidelity scandal has made her an object of curiosity. Yet most people know very little about Elin Nordegren, apart from the fact that she is now Tiger Woods’ ex-wife.
Washington correspondent, Susan Sobieraj Westfall, told E Online that when she interviewed Elin for the cover story in People magazine, Elin had this to say:
“I have nothing to hide, I just want people to know a little bit about who I am, then I’ll go back to being a private person.

1. Elin Nordegren was born in Stockholm, Sweden on New Year’s Day in 1980. She is 30 years old.
Her mother is Barbro Holmberg, a politician who served as Sweden’s migration and asylum policy minister from 2003 to 2006.
2. Her father is Thomas Nordegren, a radio journalist who serves as a bureau chief in Washington, D.C. for the Swedish Broadcasting media.
3. Elin has an older brother, Axel, and a twin sister, Josefin, who is an attorney employed by the London firm Elin retained to handle her divorce from Tiger Woods.
4. Elin’s parents divorced when she and her sister were 6 years old, which is why she tried so hard to keep her family together despiteTiger Woods' affairs.
5. Elin began modeling in 2000, and appeared on the cover of Cafe Sport magazine in the summer of 2000

6. Although she did some modeling while she was in her teens, Elin never actively pursued a modeling career because she wanted to be a child psychologist.
7. Elin is very sports-oriented. She was a competitive soccer player well into her teens, and she also scuba dives. She is currently training for a triathlon.
8. Elin Nordegren attended college at the Lund University in Sweden, where she was studying to become a child psychologist.
9. She and her twin sister, Josefin worked odd summer jobs and cashiered in supermarkets to finance their education.
10. While working at a clothing store in Stockholm, Elin met Mia Parnevik, wife of Swedish golfer Jesper Parnevik, and was hired to be the Parnevik children’s nanny. This job required Elin to relocate to the United States.
11. Elin was introduced to Tiger Woods in 2001 during British Open. Tiger Woods pursued Elin for a year, but she was seeing someone else at the time.
12. Elin Nordegren and Tiger Woods became engaged in November 2003. They were married in Barbados in October 2004. Their wedding reportedly cost $1.5 million.
13. The after party was held on golf course, and Tiger and Elin spent their wedding night on Privacy, Tiger’s $20 million yacht.
14. In 2006, Elin sued The Dubliner, an Irish publication, for libel for publishing fake nude pictures of her and claiming that she appeared on Internet porn sites. The photos were proven to be of a Playboy model who closely resembled Elin. Elin won $183,250 and an apology.
15. Elin and Tiger have 2 children – a 3-year old girl, Sam Alexis Woods, and a 1-year old boy, Charlie Axel Woods. Sam was Earl Woods the pet name for Tiger, when he was a child. Axel is the name of Elin’s brother.
16. Elin is described by her friends, family and neighbors as an intensely private person who shuns nightlife, keeps to herself, and focuses on her family, homes and fitness regimen.
17. Swedish newspapers reported that Elin Nordegren Woods and her sister, Josefin, paid over $2 million for the Faglaro Mansion on a small secluded island near Stockholm, accessible only by ferry.
18. Elin recently enrolled as a student at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, where she will continue pursuing her degree in child psychology. She needs 40 more credits to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree.
19. Elin says she considers herself an American, now, and plans to remain in the United States rather than relocating to her native Sweden. Florida will be her permanent residence because she likes the warm weather.
20. The last point on the Tiger Woods – Elin Nordegren divorce petition is a request from Elin that her maiden name, Elin Maria Pernilla Nordegren, be restored.

CHEATING TIGER WOODS failed to buy his wife's silence in their megabucks divorce deal, it emerged yesterday.
At the 11th hour ELIN NORDEGREN rejected his lawyers' bids to gag her - even though it cost her millions in a reduced settlement. A pal revealed: "Elin is a strong, independent woman who has been badly wronged. "It is not about money. She has turned down a host of offers. And she won't really dish the dirt. She wanted to show she will not be silenced. "She wants people to see she's not allowing her husband's legal team to call all the shots."
I am very glad that Elin is free at last from Tiger Woods!!!What Tiger Woods did to Elin Nordegren was criminal and coward! He showed no compassion, respect or caring for his wife or children! I believe that Elin has a right to tell her story to the world since she and the children are the only true innocent victims in this horrid ordeal! I commend Elin for her courage and determination to come public! She is truly an inspiration to all the decent women around the world! I know that Elin and her precious children will have a very happy future!!!

All the experts say men she because their partners make them feel less than what they are. call me the devils advocate. But im sure tiger isn't the first and will not be the last athlete or famous person who cheats on his wife. Some how his business went public. I believed he was set up. I also believe there is more to Elin that meets the eye. She and her family are opportunist. It was only tiger and his mom and Dad who were responsible for his success. I should to marry a women who needed a green card and could not go to school in this country. Not surprisingly to me it is ironic how her bothers and sisters firm handled the divorce. I bet they all became american citizens under tiger woods. Illegal immigrants have been marry US citicens for years to go to school and get green cards. Read her article in people magazine carefully. She emphasizes how she is a american citizen now and how she can get a degree now. Oh yeah having children by an american means nothing. They only want education and green card.
