Who do trust more, Senator Feinstein or CIA Director Brennan?

On a day when non-working citizens can tune into C-Span to listen to Senator Claire McCaskill drill Department of Energy executives about their permitting a prime contractor to fire two whistleblowers who worked at Hanford nuclear site and who complained about safety violations, one could also hear Senator Dianne Feinstein blast the CIA for spying on her staff.

CIA Director Brennan and Senator Feinstein at odds over hacking

In both instances, Democrat Senators are addressing problems with the Obama administration’s executives and departments. To the average citizen who might catch an earful during dinner while watching the evening news, the summation is that government cannot be trusted. In the instance of the CIA spying on the Senate oversight committee, well that is a breach of the separation of powers as defined by the US Constitution.

Every day, more and more credibility is given to arguments by Edward Snowden that We the People have lost control of government by the people. The dysfunction in the American political system is tragically broken to extremes that warrant calling it a national emergency to get it fixed.

This analyst would give the edge to Senator Feinstein as she is the senior elected official and overseer. John Brennan is a holdover from the previous administration and should have been replaced.

“Brennan: CIA hacking allegations not true

By Jeremy Herb

CIA Director John Brennan on Tuesday denied allegations that the CIA hacked into Senate Intelligence Committee computers.

“Nothing could be further from the truth,” Brennan said at an event at the Council on Foreign Relations. “We wouldn’t do that. That’s just beyond the scope of reason in terms of what we’d do.”

Brennan's denial comes after Senate Intelligence Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) issued a scathing statement on Tuesday accusing the CIA of illegally searching her committee’s computers.

“I have grave concerns that the CIA’s search may well have violated the separation of powers principles embodied in the United States Constitution,” Feinstein said. “I have asked for an apology and a recognition that this CIA search of computers used by its oversight committee was inappropriate. I have received neither.”
