Who better to mix horror, romance and stars in one weekend than Dead Winter Con? And to say that they did an awesome job is an understatement.

Owners and now newlyweds, Brian and Samantha Sizemore did a magnificent job at bringing together a weekend mixed with movie screenings, movie stars, vendors, and after hour events.

On Friday, the event began with the doors opening at 5:00 pm to several fans awaiting entrance to the second year event that took place in Somerset. At that time, there were cool stars to meet like "Friday the 13th's" Ari Lehman, Harry Manfredi, and Victor Miller. Next to Ari was Eerie Von the lead singer of Danzig and Samhain. They were all very friendly and spent time speaking with any of the fans that came through.

But, the most lovable and funny actor that day was Theodus Crane who played Big Tiny on the AMC's zombie show "The Walking Dead." He and the walkers that were there Patrick Barnitt, Savanna Jade Wehunt, Michael Koske, Larry Mainland, and Sonya Thompson, were the hit of the weekend. Their outrageous photo ops were shared all over Facebook.

The evening ended with a wild birthday bash for The Booth Brothers.

Saturday came and so arrived one of the headliners, Tony Todd star from "Candyman" and the "Final Destinations" films. He greeted fans and signed autographs. He was super nice and friendly as were the other stars including R. A. Mihailoff and John Dugan from "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and Nick King of "Sinister".

That evening closed with a VIP party in which stars and VIP pass holders mingled. These included several local and nationally known paranormal stars and groups and some very nice actresses and models such as Eliza Jayne and Kayla Perkins.

But, Sunday was one of the most emotional of all the days at the convention. The owner Brian and Samantha had their wedding for all of their family and friends to see. Members of their bridal party included not only their children and family but also Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees and Eric Draven who stood with the bride and groom. The ceremony was beautiful and very unique.

The weekend was wonderful and everyone is looking forward to next year's event. But, in the meantime, the Sizemore's are planning a super awesome geekfest called Geektopia. It takes place in August in Somerset, KY as well. They are currently looking for volunteers as well as sponsors. Please contact them on their website here.
