Whitney Houston was such a powerful presence both in the music industry and on the big screen. Even if you didn't agree with her lifestyle choices at times you could not downplay the power, beauty and majesty of the pipes that lady had.
When Oprah Winfrey interviewed her a few years ago after the dark Bobby Brown era she chastised her a bit for her drug use saying that it was a crime to harm her voice as she considered it a "national treasure". Now we've lost this national treasure for good and it's hard to understand why people are still circling around her bones like hungry vultures looking for something to pick on. Houston was the most awarded female artist of all time with two Emmy Awards, six Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, 22 American Music Awards, among a total of 415 career awards as of 2010.
