Despite years of health concerns and addiction issues, fans are shocked at the news that Whitney Houston died Saturday afternoon. The story is developing, but TMZ and People are reporting that her rep has confirmed her death.
Saturday evening, Naughty But Nice Rob with HDNet and an entertainment columnist, shared via Twitter that Whitney Houston died at the Beverly Hilton Hotel where a pre-Grammy Clive Davis party was being held in the evening. TMZ is reporting that a crime scene lab vehicle is currently outside the hotel as well. While the media is widely reporting that a drug overdose is suspected, at this time there is no official word regarding the manner and details of her death.
Whitney Houston has remained highly regarded as a superstar despite her drug problems, and word this week was that she had been approached to join The X Factor team. There were also reports she and X Factor Season 1 contestant Stacy Francis had gotten into a beef Friday night when Whitney performed at the Michael Jackson tribute concert.
