Tennessee's deathcore heavy weights Whitechapel and California groove machine DevilDriver will be bringing their current tour to Boise on Sunday, May 25th at The Knitting Factory. It is Memorial Day weekend so it is the perfect time for a Sunday metal revival. Tickets for the show are only $22. Joining this dynamically deranged duo will be Carnifex, Revocation, Rivers of Nihil and Fit For an Autopsy. Six bands! Doors open at 5PM, showtime is 6PM.
Whitechapel have been peddling in aggressive brutality since 2006. The band’s unique three-guitar attack offers multi-layered riffage that other bands do not. Whitechapel just released their highly anticipated fifth full length studio album entitled "Our Endless War" on April 29th via Metal Blade Records. Rock Revolt Magazine hails the album for "It's visceral inclinations, profoundly powerful lyrics, intricate rhythms, and diverse range of themes....Whitechapel delivers an album that satiates your metallic palate, yet leaves you lusting for more". You can check out our April 2014 interview with guitarist Alex Wade above.
Southern California's DevilDriver have been a nonstop groove metal juggernaut for over a decade. They released their most recent full length album, the band's sixth, entitled "Winter Kills" late last summer through Napalm Records. It reached #32 on the Billboard 200 in its first week. Burst Magazine says the work is "filled with fascinating heavy guitar riffs, passionate growling vocals, fervent percussion and bass lines that coexist." It marks the first album with new bassist Chris Towning.
San Diego’s modern death metal miscreants, Carnifex, have been through a strange couple of years, but 2014 finds them back with their most cohesive and expansive offering yet, "Die Without Hope". "Die Without Hope" recently reached #98 on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 chart upon its release last March via Nuclear Blast Records. The record also reached #8 on the Hard Rock Charts.
