White wine review: 2008 Los Vascos Sauvignon Blanc
To be quite honest,
Sauvignon Blanc tends to be a difficult varietal for me to enjoy; often tasting like someone boiled a dirt gym-sock and bottled the liquid. However, Los Vascos 2008
Sauvignon Blanc from Casablanca Valley is a terrific find.
The nose of this wine permeates subtle aromas of lemon, lime, pineapple, and other exotic fruits as well as grass and flowers. It's a great reminder of fresh Spring air.
On the palette this Sauvignon Blanc is well balanced with its cleansing acidity. The wine is great for salads, light dishes, or a sharp cheddar cheese and some crackers.
