White Sox win at Fenway

They might soon start calling Fenway Park US Cellular East. The White Sox have certainly felt comfortable in the Red Sox home park recently having won the last five meetings between both teams there.

Jake Peavy got the win last night going seven innings and limiting Boston to three runs on six hits. Speaking to the Chicago Tribune after the game, the right-hander claimed he still has a few things to work on:

"Some days I go out there and on Day 3 I feel better than I do on Day 5. It's kind of piecing it together. I'm going to take some time and maybe alter my pregame program and try to throw a little bit longer and see if I can get a little bit looser than I've been getting.

"The first few innings have been such a grind for me to get loose. I almost feel better the later a ballgame goes."

The Sox will go for six in a row tonight on Jake Peavy’s 30th birthday. Phil Humber (3-3) will take the ball for the Pale Hose and try and continue a streak of his own. The former first round draft pick will be looking for his seventh consecutive quality start in a row after picking up number six against the Toronto Blue Jays on May 26th.

Alfredo Aceves (2-0) will offer the opposition. The righty has been nothing short of exceptional this season with a 2.22 ERA and 1.06 WHIP.

The game can be viewed locally on WCIU at 6 PM CT.
