The Kannapolis Intimidators announced today that they have received right-handed pitcher Tyler Danish from the White Sox Advanced Rookie club in Bristol, Virginia. He was Chicago’s second round selection in the 2013 Amateur Draft out of Durant High School in Plant City, Florida and will not turn 19 until September 12.
Danish becomes the fifth member of this year’s draft class to join the Intimidators along with first round pick Tim Anderson (17th overall), third round selection Jacob May (91st overall), Brad Goldberg (10th round) and Andre Wheeler (15th round).
The Valrico, FL native was 1-0 in 13 games with a 1.38 ERA (26.0 innings) allowing just 15 hits while striking out 22 with the Appalachian League club.
In his senior year, Danish did not allow an earned run in 94 innings of work leading his team to the Florida 8A state final.
The Intimidators have now recorded 98 transactions this season.
